“When we give ourselves compassion, we are opening our hearts in a way that can transform our lives.” - Kristen Neff

I support from a basic foundation of hope and compassion within a trauma - informed and systems focused lens believing each person’s story consists of complexities between their unique past and present physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual parts. These elements shape who we were, who we are, and who we are becoming.

I practice from a person-centred approach and have additional training in:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

  • Solution Focused Therapy

  • Grief Care Professional Certificate

  • Emotion Focused Family Therapy (Level One)

Although I have lived in the Fraser Valley all my adult life, my roots are from Vancouver Island and so I have a deep appreciation for the mysterious dark mossy forests, the ever changing yet constant ocean tide, and the slower pace of life. I see these as inspiring my work as I stay curious about the dark mysterious (and sometimes unknown and scary) parts of ourselves, learning to appreciate - not fear - the tides of life going up and down, and the beneficial practice of sitting in a slower state which can bring grounding, clarity, and peace within ourselves.

If requested, I am happy to incorporate Faith-Based/Christian counselling into sessions if that would benefit or align with your values and beliefs.

Whether you’ve been holding it together for a long or a short time, I’m here to support you.

I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#20834) with a Masters of Counselling Psychology and prior to becoming a counsellor, I supported diverse populations within the school district and non-profit social services as a support and outreach worker. I currently work in community mental health as a clinician for children and youth experiencing mental health crisis, disorders, and emotional dysregulation. For over a decade, I have witnessed the incredible human strength, resiliency, resourcefulness, and perseverance possessed in the face of hardship, pain, and barriers. From both my professional and personal experience, I have seen the relief and power that comes from the courageous step to seek support and how connection with safe and supportive people can help heal and restore us.
